This family group is of Samuel Etheridge, the one with the beard sitting, he was born in 1850. The lady sitting is his wife Anna Maria nee Piper, born 1849. Her father was Peter Piper and his wife Elizabeth nee Woods. All four of these people are buried in the churchyard. Also two of Samuel and Maria's babies are buried there. Samuel's father Robert is buried there and his father James and their wives and some of their children.The girl standing at the back of the photo is Edith the eldest daughter of Samuel and Anna. The boy in long trousers is Oswald Samuel Etheridge and the other boy Herbert the youngest son. The other guy is believed to be Edith's boyfriend. They lived at Church Farm which is the house next to the church before moving to Flixton some time between 1881 and 1891.
